Termageddon: Auto-Updating Website Policies

Generates a privacy policy, terms, disclaimer, EULA and cookie policy for your Squarespace site, then updates them by itself as the underlying laws change.

  • The policies update themselves. Termageddon monitors the laws behind your policies and pushes changes to the embedded page, so a policy written in 2024 is not still saying 2024 things.
  • More than 120 laws tracked. Across the United States, the EU, Canada, Australia and the UK — 128 in effect and 4 upcoming at the time of writing.
  • One licence, one site, all policies. $12/mo or $119/yr covers privacy policy, terms, disclaimer, EULA, cookie policy and cookie consent for a single website.
  • Not legal advice, and they say so. Termageddon state plainly that they are not a law firm and that their output does not replace a licensed attorney.

Overview

What Termageddon actually is

Most Squarespace sites collect personal data without their owner thinking of it that way: a contact form, an analytics script, an email signup, a cookie banner that does not do anything. In much of the world that triggers disclosure requirements, and the usual response is a privacy policy copied from a free generator or from another site, pasted once and never touched again.

Termageddon replaces that with a questionnaire and an embed. You answer questions about what your business actually does and collects; they generate the policies that apply to you and give you an embed code. The policy renders from their service, so when a law they track changes, the page on your site changes with it and you are emailed about it.

The scope is wider than most people expect: more than 120 website-related laws, rules and regulations, 128 of them already in effect. Privacy law is the largest slice, but the single most-affected document is the disclaimer — 88 of the tracked rules touch it, including professional conduct rules for regulated trades.

What it is not

Termageddon is unusually clear about its own limits, and repeating them is more useful than any feature list.

  • They state directly that they are not a law firm, and that information on their site "is not legal advice and should not be treated as such".
  • Their policies "should be used solely as a guide" and do "not replace the advice of a licensed attorney".
  • Communication with them is not subject to attorney-client privilege.
  • "Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have to take additional actions to be in compliance with the law."
  • "Any use of the policies contained in this Website is at your own risk."

The policies are generated from answers you give about your own business. A wrong answer produces a wrong policy, and that is your responsibility rather than theirs. Termageddon also note they are used by attorneys — which is a statement about their customers, not a claim to be one.

How it works

Answer, embed, forget

  1. Answer the questionnaire

Questions about your business, your website and what data it collects. This is where the accuracy comes from, and where the work is.

  2. They identify what applies

Termageddon works out which of the tracked laws apply to you rather than generating a generic document.

  3. Paste the embed code

Into a code block on your Squarespace policy page. The same mechanism works on WordPress, Shopify, Wix, React and Next.js.

  4. Updates arrive on their own

When a tracked law changes in a way that affects your site, the embedded policy updates and you are emailed.

The cookie consent banner, which is part of the same licence rather than an extra. It is powered by Usercentrics rather than built in-house.

Coverage

What is actually tracked

From Termageddon's coverage page on 29 August 2026 — 128 laws in effect and 4 upcoming. Their own warning is worth repeating: a law can apply to you even when your business is in a different country or state.

By region Laws By policy affected Laws
United States 87 Disclaimer 88
European Union 16 Privacy Policy 30
Canada 15 Cookie Consent 17
Australia 10 Terms & Conditions 13
United Kingdom 4 Cookie Policy 8

Counts as published on termageddon.com/coverage. A single law often affects more than one policy, so the two columns do not sum to the same total.

The disclaimer being the most-affected document is the counter-intuitive part, and it is the one most Squarespace sites do not have at all. It is where professional conduct rules land for regulated trades, and where consumer-protection and advertising rules land for everybody else.

Pricing

What it costs, in full

Read from Termageddon's own pricing page on 29 August 2026. There is one plan. The only choice is monthly or yearly, and the licence covers one website.

  • Monthly

    $12/mo

    per website or application

    • Every policy included
    • Cookie consent solution included
    • Automatic updates and email alerts

There is no tiering and nothing held back for a higher plan: the privacy policy, terms, disclaimer, EULA, cookie policy and cookie consent solution are all in the one licence. Termageddon make a point of this — their pricing page objects to being charged extra for limiting your liability.

Agencies: Termageddon give web design agencies a complimentary set of policies for their own site, and run reseller and affiliate agency partnerships on top. Worth asking about before paying retail for client sites.

Worth knowing

Where it is the wrong answer

If you need to know whether your specific business is compliant, this is not that, and Termageddon are the first to say so. It generates documents from your answers and keeps them current; it does not assess your position, and it does not stand behind the result the way an attorney would.

It is also a subscription rather than a purchase. The policy on your page is rendered from their service, so it is a dependency — which is exactly what you want if the point is that it keeps updating, and exactly what you do not want if you expected a document you own outright.

And it is one licence per website. Ten client sites is ten subscriptions unless you go through their agency programme, which is the conversation to have first if you are a designer rather than a single business.

If you already list BeyondSpace's Automatic Website Policies on this site, note that it is built on Termageddon: same underlying service, packaged and priced differently. Buying both would be paying twice for one thing.

Everything else about Termageddon

For anything about your own policies or account, ask Termageddon — termageddon.com/contact

Is Termageddon legal advice?

No, and they say so explicitly. Their disclaimer states that Termageddon is not a law firm, that the information is "not legal advice and should not be treated as such", and that it "does not replace the advice of a licensed attorney".

They also note that communication with them is not subject to attorney-client privilege, and that depending on your jurisdiction you may need to take further steps to comply.

What does it cost?

$12 per month, or $119 per year, per website or application. There is one plan and every policy is included — there is no higher tier to unlock anything.

Which policies do I get?

Privacy policy, terms and conditions, disclaimer, EULA and cookie policy, plus their cookie consent solution. All of them are covered by the single licence.

How does it install on Squarespace?

You answer their questionnaire, they generate an embed code, and you paste it into a code block on the page you want the policy to appear on.

Because the policy renders from their service rather than being pasted as text, updates reach your site without you editing the page again.

What actually updates, and how would I know?

Termageddon monitors the laws behind your policies. When one changes in a way that affects your website, the embedded policy is updated and you are sent an email notification.

They track more than 120 laws, rules and regulations — 128 in effect and 4 upcoming at the time of writing.

Which countries is it available in?

Termageddon state it is available for businesses formed in the United States, Canada, Ireland, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Australia and South Africa.

Their coverage page also warns that a law can apply to you even if your business is located elsewhere — the country you sell into matters, not only the one you are registered in.

What am I responsible for?

The answers. The policies are generated from what you tell them about your business and website, so an inaccurate answer produces an inaccurate policy.

Their disclaimer states that any use of the policies is at your own risk.

What happens if I cancel?

The policies are embedded from Termageddon's service, so this is a hosted dependency rather than a document you own. Confirm the exact behaviour on cancellation with them before you rely on it — they do not state it on their pricing page.

I already use BeyondSpace's Automatic Website Policies. Is this the same thing?

Closely related. BeyondSpace's product is built on Termageddon — their own listing describes it as "through our partnership with Termageddon" — packaged for Squarespace and priced differently.

You would not normally want both. Pick whichever packaging and price suits you.

Is there an affiliate or agency programme?

Yes. Termageddon run agency partner, law firm partner and affiliate partner programmes, and describe the affiliate arrangement as a recurring revenue share. Approved affiliates are issued a custom promo code and an affiliate link.

Web design agencies are also offered a complimentary set of policies for their own site.

Does Squarespell earn anything if I sign up?

Not currently. Squarespell holds no Termageddon referral link, so the button goes to their ordinary product site and no commission is earned.

The relationship is disclosed anyway rather than quietly omitted, and if a link is added later it will be tracked and disclosed in the same place.

Has Squarespell tested this?

No. The badge says Untested because no compatibility test has been recorded.

Everything factual here — pricing, coverage counts, availability, the disclaimer wording — was read from Termageddon's own pricing, coverage and disclaimer pages on 29 August 2026.

Ready when you are

One licence, every policy, kept current

Twelve dollars a month for a privacy policy, terms, disclaimer, EULA, cookie policy and consent banner that update themselves as the law behind them changes. Read their disclaimer first — it is short, and it is honest about what this is not.
