Vitals: 40+ Shopify Apps in One Subscription

A single Shopify app that bundles more than forty conversion tools — reviews, upsells, bundles, back-in-stock alerts, session recordings and email — under one $29.99 subscription.

  • Forty-plus tools, one install. Reviews, upsells, bundles, back-in-stock alerts, session recordings, push and email — the stack most stores assemble from separate apps, in a single subscription.
  • $29.99 a month is the floor, not the ceiling. Above $1,000 of directly assisted sales a month, usage tiers apply on top. That is the number to understand before you commit.
  • Free on development and partner stores. Development stores, partner stores and stores on a Shopify trial get a free plan, so you can build with it before you pay for it.
  • Shopify only. This is a Shopify app. It is listed here as an extension for the Shopify side of the catalogue, and it is not a WordPress plugin.

Overview

The app-stack problem, bought as one app

A Shopify store that has been trading for a year tends to accumulate apps. One for reviews, one for upsells, one for back-in-stock alerts, one for popups, one for email. Each is a subscription, each is a support contact, each adds script to the storefront, and together they are usually the second-largest line in the software budget after Shopify itself.

Vitals is the response to that: one app containing more than forty tools, switched on individually from inside it, on one subscription. Vitals report more than 30,000 active merchants using it.

This is a Shopify app. It does not run on WordPress or Squarespace, and it is filed here as an extension on the Shopify platform rather than as a plugin.

What it costs

Read the second table, not the first

The advertised price is $29.99 a month for the whole suite, with a free plan for development stores, partner stores and stores still on a Shopify trial. That is the number on the pricing page, and it is genuinely what a small store pays.

Above that sits a usage charge Vitals call direct revenue assists — sales their tools are credited with influencing. It is published openly, and it is the part most likely to surprise you.

Assisted sales per month Additional charge
$0 – $1,000 No charge
$1,000 – $5,000 $40
$5,000 – $10,000 $90
$10,000 – $20,000 $190

Usage tiers charged on top of the $29.99 subscription, as published by Vitals.

The attribution is Vitals' own. Deciding whether a sale was caused by an upsell widget is a judgement call, and the party making it is the party sending the invoice. That is not a reason to avoid the app, but it is a reason to check the assisted-revenue figure against your own numbers rather than accepting it.

What you actually get

Forty tools, and the ones that matter

Three of the bundled tools do most of the work for most stores, and they are the ones worth judging the subscription on.

Vitals' upsell and bundle features under the heading "Sell more with Upsells & Bundles": a "Frequently bought together" panel pairing two products with a combined price, a "Buy more, save more" volume-discount table, a buy-one-get-one offer, and a progress meter prompting the shopper to spend $10 more for free shipping
Upsells and bundles: frequently-bought-together pairings, volume discounts, BOGO offers and a spending goal that prompts for free shipping. This is the part of the suite the revenue-assist billing is measuring.
Vitals' back-in-stock feature: a "Notify me when back in stock" panel with Email and SMS tabs and a "Notify when available" button, beside a phone showing a lock-screen notification reading "Titan Ceramic Watch is back in stock" and a mobile store page announcing that a desired product is back in stock
Back-in-stock alerts by email and SMS, which recover demand for sold-out lines that would otherwise be lost silently.
Vitals' session recording feature under the heading "Watch real visitors in action": a replay of a product page with the cursor path traced across it, playback controls and speed settings, a panel counting 236 recordings over seven days against live visitors, add-to-carts and completed orders, and a list of individual recordings tagged by date and city
Session recordings, showing where visitors click, scroll and hesitate. The plan includes 1,000 recorded page views, which is an allowance rather than an unlimited feed.

The trade

Adequate at forty things

  • One subscription and one support contact instead of six of each, which is a real saving in money and in attention.
  • One app's worth of storefront script instead of six, which usually helps page speed.
  • Bundled tools tend to be good rather than best. A dedicated reviews app will do reviews better than a suite that also does push notifications.
  • If one function is genuinely central to your business, buy that one properly and let Vitals cover the rest.
  • The included allowances — 500 email contacts, 1,000 recorded page views, 5,000 push impressions — are sized for a small store and will be passed by a growing one.

Before you install

Everything else about Vitals

For anything about your own store or bill, ask Vitals — their pricing page

Is this a WordPress plugin?

No. Vitals is a Shopify app and runs only on Shopify. It is listed here as an extension on the Shopify platform. Squarespell itself runs on WordPress, which says nothing about what any listed product runs on.

What does it really cost?

$29.99 a month for the suite, plus a usage charge based on what Vitals call direct revenue assists. Below $1,000 of assisted sales a month there is no extra charge. From $1,000 to $5,000 it adds $40; $5,000 to $10,000 adds $90; $10,000 to $20,000 adds $190, and it continues from there.

A successful store therefore pays noticeably more than $29.99. That is disclosed on their pricing page, but it is not the number in the headline.

Is there a free plan?

Yes, for development stores, partner stores and stores still on a Shopify trial. It lets you build and test with the suite before there is a live store paying for it.

How is "revenue assisted" decided?

By Vitals' own attribution — their measure of which sales their tools influenced. It is worth checking against your own analytics, because the company measuring the value is the company billing for it.

What is actually included in the allowances?

The plan includes 500 email marketing contacts, 5,000 review-request emails, 1,000 recorded page views, 5,000 push impressions, and support for up to 20,000 products. Those are the published limits at the time of writing.

Do I have to use all forty tools?

No. They are switched on individually from inside the app, and most stores use a handful. Nothing is enabled on your storefront until you enable it.

Will it slow my store down?

One app's script is generally lighter than the six it replaces, which is one of the honest arguments for a suite. But it is still code on your storefront, and the only way to know its effect on your theme is to measure before and after.

Should I use this instead of a dedicated reviews or upsell app?

If reviews or upsells are the core of how you sell, buy the dedicated app for that and let Vitals cover everything else. A bundle of forty tools is a good default, not a specialist.

Has Squarespell used it?

No. We have not run a Shopify store on Vitals. Everything here comes from their pricing page and Shopify App Store listing, and this page carries no verdict on how it performs in practice.

Does Squarespell earn anything if I install it?

Yes — this listing links through a Vitals referral URL, disclosed on the button. It cannot change where Vitals ranks: the recommendation score cannot read any commercial field, and a test enforces it.

Ready when you are

Sensible default, if you read the usage tiers

Forty tools for $29.99 is a genuinely good deal for a store still assembling its stack. Work out what your assisted-revenue tier will look like at your current sales before you decide it is cheap.
