Printful: Print-on-Demand Fulfilment
A print-on-demand and warehousing service that manufactures and ships products under your brand as orders come in — no inventory bought upfront, no minimum order.
- No inventory, no minimum order. Products are manufactured only once a customer orders them. Nothing is bought or held in stock upfront.
- Free to start, priced per order. Creating an account and connecting a store costs nothing. What you pay is the product price plus fulfilment and shipping on each order Printful ships for you.
- Your brand on the package. Products ship with your branding rather than Printful's, within the customisation options each product supports.
- You are still the seller. Printful manufactures and ships; customer service, returns handling and the storefront itself remain the seller's responsibility.
Overview
Selling products you never manufacture
Print-on-demand inverts the usual retail order of operations: instead of buying stock and hoping it sells, a product exists only as a design and a listing until someone actually orders it. Printful is one of the larger companies built around making that work at the scale of an individual order rather than a bulk production run.
The mechanism is straightforward. You connect a store — Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, Squarespace and several others are officially supported — add Printful's products to your catalogue with your own designs, and when a customer buys, the order is sent to Printful automatically. They manufacture it, apply your branding where the product supports it, and ship it. You never see or hold the physical item.
Creating a Printful account and connecting a store costs nothing. The real cost is per order: the product's base price plus fulfilment and shipping, which Printful publish on their own pricing and catalogue pages rather than as one flat figure that would apply to everything they make.
What it costs
Free account, priced fulfilment, optional membership
The Free plan costs nothing to sign up for, and every order still carries its own real cost: the product's base price, set per item and per platform, plus a fulfilment charge and shipping, published on Printful's own catalogue and pricing pages rather than reproduced here as a single number that would be wrong for most of what they sell.
On top of that, Printful sells an optional Printful Growth membership at $24.99/month — free automatically once a store reaches $12,000/year in Printful sales — which discounts product pricing by up to 33%, branding by 9% and sample orders by 25%, plus an exclusive large front print option and free embroidery digitization on samples. Enterprise is a further custom-priced tier aimed at high-volume brands, adding a dedicated success manager and store-building support. Neither membership tier is required: the Free plan is a complete, ordinary way to sell through Printful, and Growth/Enterprise exist purely to lower the per-order cost at higher volume.
"Free to start" is accurate about the account. It is not the same claim as free fulfilment, and treating it that way is the most common way to misprice a print-on-demand product before the first sale. The Growth and Enterprise membership fees are a separate, optional cost layered on top of — not instead of — the per-order product, fulfilment and shipping charges.

What stays your job
Printful fulfils; it does not run your store. The storefront experience, marketing, pricing strategy and customer service for your own customers all remain your responsibility. Printful's support covers the fulfilment side — a print defect, a shipping problem — not your relationship with the people who bought from you.
Branding is real but bounded: custom neck labels, packing slips and inserts exist on the products that support them, not universally across the whole catalogue. Check a specific product's branding options before assuming your packaging will look a particular way.

Everything else about Printful
For anything about your own store, orders or account, ask Printful — their help centre
Is Printful actually free?
The account is. Creating one, connecting a store and browsing the catalogue cost nothing. Each order you fulfil through Printful carries a real cost — the product's base price plus fulfilment and shipping — published on their own pricing and catalogue pages.
Treat "free to start" as a statement about signing up, not about what it costs to sell.
Is there a paid Printful plan?
Optionally, yes. Printful Growth is $24.99/month (waived automatically once a store passes $12,000/year in Printful sales) and discounts product pricing by up to 33%, branding by 9% and sample orders by 25%. Enterprise is a further custom-priced tier for high-volume brands, adding a dedicated success manager.
Neither is required — the Free plan is a complete way to sell through Printful. Growth and Enterprise exist to lower the per-order cost once volume justifies the monthly fee, not to unlock features the Free plan lacks entirely.
Which platforms does it connect to?
Printful officially integrates with Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, Etsy, Amazon, eBay and others, and publishes a public API for custom or unlisted platforms. It is one account and one fulfilment backend behind all of them, which is why this listing covers every platform rather than being split into one per integration.
Do I need to hold inventory?
No. Products are manufactured after a customer orders them, not before. Printful also offers warehousing and fulfilment for sellers who do want to store product in bulk, but the default print-on-demand model needs no inventory purchase.
How is my branding applied?
Where a product supports it, Printful can apply custom labels, packing slips and inserts. Support varies by product, so check the specific item's branding options rather than assuming every product in the catalogue carries the same customisation.
Who handles customer service?
You do, for your own customers. Printful's support covers the fulfilment side of the relationship — a defective print, a lost package — not your storefront or your customer communications.
What happens if I stop using it?
On the Free plan there is no subscription to cancel — you simply stop sending orders. If you had subscribed to Printful Growth or Enterprise, that membership fee is what you would cancel; the account and any products already listed stay in place either way. Products already listed in your store using Printful artwork or mockups would need replacing if you switch fulfilment providers entirely.
Where does it ship from?
Printful operates multiple fulfilment locations and routes an order to whichever serves it, which affects shipping time and cost per order. Their own site is the source for current fulfilment locations and coverage — figures change, so it is not reproduced here as a fixed claim.
Has Squarespell used it?
No. We have not fulfilled orders through Printful. Everything on this page is read from Printful's own site, and the listing carries no verdict on print quality or delivery reliability.
Does Squarespell earn anything if I sign up?
Yes — this listing links through Printful's affiliate program, disclosed on the button. It cannot affect ranking: the recommendation score is unable to read any commercial field, and a test enforces that rather than a policy.
