Is the Social Feed plugin compatible with Squarespace 7.0 and 7.1?

Elfsight works on all Squarespace versions, including classic 7.0 and the latest 7.1 with Fluid Engine, and it integrates smoothly with any template.

Which Squarespace plans support adding the Social Feed?

You’ll need a plan that allows custom code. Squarespace’s Business or higher plans are required for embedding JavaScript widgets – Personal/Basic plans don’t support code blocks or header/footer injections for scripts.

Can I use multiple accounts or hashtags in one feed?

Yes, you can include multiple sources from the same network in one plugin (e.g., several Instagram accounts or hashtags at once).

Does Social Feed show content from private accounts?

It only shows content from public profiles. Elfsight cannot pull posts from private or locked accounts, keeping those hidden.

Do I need login or API keys to connect social networks?

Most public sources like Instagram, X (Twitter), and hashtags don’t require login or API keys, while Facebook Pages, Vimeo, and VK feeds must be authorized due to platform API rules.

Can I filter posts by type or hashtags?

Filtering in the Social Feed plugin is configured separately for each added source. For platforms like Instagram and Facebook, you can filter by keywords, post URL, hashtag, and date, while LinkedIn does not support date filtering. Instagram also allows filtering by content type (images, videos, Reels), but this option is platform-specific.

What sorting options are available for posts?

You can sort posts by publication date or randomly – whichever fits your needs.

Can I separate feeds into tabs by source?

Yes, you can add multiple tabs in one Social Feed. For example, have an “All” tab for all sources and separate tabs for each network.

Does Elfsight support Instagram Reels?

Yes, Instagram Reels are supported and will appear as playable videos in your Social Feed. You can even filter an Instagram source to show only Reels on your Squarespace website.

Does Social Feed support YouTube and Vimeo videos?

Yes, if you add a YouTube or Vimeo feed, the Social Feed will show video thumbnails and let visitors play those videos in a popup.

Can Elfsight display comments on posts?

The plugin displays a comments icon with the total count, but full comments cannot be viewed inside the feed. Clicking the icon opens the original post on the source platform.

How often does Social Feed update posts?

Each source refreshes at a set interval (e.g., Facebook ~6 hours, Instagram ~48 hours, Twitter ~48 hours, YouTube ~24 hours).
